Teen Motorcyclist Dies in Oconee County, SC Crash, According to Coroner.

A South Carolina teenager died Sunday after her motorcycle crashed while evading law enforcement in Seneca, according to the Oconee County Coroner’s Office.

Olivia Morgan Sanchez, 16, of Gray Court, was pronounced dead from blunt force trauma at Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital shortly after 7:10 p.m. Sunday. The incident occurred late Saturday night.

Around 11:20 p.m., Oconee County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop Sanchez’s motorcycle on Clemson Boulevard due to reckless driving and lack of a registration tag. Authorities reported that she was speeding—over 100 mph—and swerved into oncoming traffic.

The collision happened on Sheep Farm Road near Brook Lane after she lost control of her 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle, which went off the road, struck an embankment, and collided with a tree. Deputies confirmed that no law enforcement vehicles were involved in the accident.

Sanchez, who was wearing a helmet, was treated at the scene by EMS before being airlifted. No other injuries were reported.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, while the sheriff’s office is conducting an internal review. Traffic incident statistics show at least 687 people have died on South Carolina roads in 2025 as of October 4.

Further information regarding the circumstances of Sanchez disregarding the traffic stop has not been disclosed.
