YOUNGSVILLE, La. (NEWS 15) — A motorcyclist died in a crash on LA 339 near Simon Road on Wednesday, June 11, at approximately 7 a.m., according to Louisiana State Police.
Authorities identified the deceased motorcyclist as 42-year-old Dustin Ayo of Thibodaux. Troopers stated Ayo was traveling southbound on a 2025 Suzuki Motorcycle at a high rate of speed when a 2013 Nissan Sentra turned left onto Simon Road, resulting in a collision.
Ayo, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, wearing a seatbelt, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators collected routine toxicology samples as part of the ongoing investigation. No additional details regarding lane closures or the status of the Nissan driver were available at this time.
