A third person has died following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Montgomery County on Monday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash occurred at the 181-mile marker involving two tractor-trailers around 1:48 p.m. One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other sustained injuries.
Authorities confirmed that delays are expected for approximately four and a half hours in the westbound lanes due to the incident.
Earlier on Monday, two individuals died in a separate crash involving a motorcycle and a box truck at the 182.2-mile marker. This incident contributed to the ongoing roadway issues in the area.
Additionally, I-70 at the 177-mile marker experienced closures earlier in the morning due to a truck fire. MSHP is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding both fatal crashes.
