A third fatality occurred following a crash involving two tractor-trailers on Interstate 70 in Montgomery County on Monday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported the incident at the 181 mile marker at 1:48 p.m., involving two trucks. One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was injured.
Authorities confirmed that westbound lanes of I-70 will remain closed for approximately 4.5 hours due to the investigation and clean-up efforts.
Earlier, two fatalities were reported in a separate collision involving a motorcycle and a box truck at mile marker 182.2.
Additionally, I-70 was temporarily shut down during the morning at mile marker 177 due to a truck fire.
