Two Dead, Several Injured in Motorcycle Crashes Across Connecticut Over the Weekend
Connecticut reported two fatalities and multiple injuries in several motorcycle accidents over the weekend.
On Friday night, 21-year-old Sariah Isabelle Miranda was killed on Interstate 384 east in Manchester. Authorities said she was a passenger on a Suzuki motorcycle that was struck from behind by another vehicle, causing her to be thrown and subsequently hit by another car.
In Fairfield, 37-year-old Jose M. Bautistasoto from Port Chester, N.Y., died after losing control of his motorcycle on Interstate 95 south, colliding with the rear of an SUV, police said.
On Saturday, a crash on Route 66 in Marlborough left two individuals injured, with both found on fire at the scene. One was airlifted to a burn center, while details on their conditions remain unclear.
Later that evening on Winsted Road in Torrington, two people sustained serious injuries. A 54-year-old woman, a passenger on a motorcycle, was airlifted to a hospital, while the 58-year-old operator was transported for treatment.
Sunday saw a series of incidents: 69-year-old Mark Floryan died following a head-on collision on Route 189 in Granby. He was airlifted to Hartford Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
A subsequent crash in Killingly resulted in serious injuries to the motorcycle operator. Another hit-and-run incident in Hartford left a man seriously injured, with investigations ongoing.
Authorities confirmed these were not all incidents over the weekend, and additional crashes may have occurred.
