Three Dead in Adelphi Motorcycle Collision
A motorcycle collision at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road in Adelphi left three people dead on Tuesday night, July 14, according to Prince George’s County Police.
The victims included 22-year-old Elvin Martinez Hernandez of Hyattsville, who was riding the motorcycle, along with 61-year-old Reddick Speight and 62-year-old Terri Stringfellow, both from Adelphi. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the preliminary investigation indicates Hernandez and another vehicle were heading north on New Hampshire Avenue when a third vehicle, attempting to turn left onto Metzerott Road, collided with them.
The driver and a passenger of the third vehicle were transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit of the Prince George’s County Police Department is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
