SANTA CLARA COUNTY – Three individuals were killed in separate motorcycle and vehicle crashes over the weekend, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The first crash occurred at 5:10 p.m. Saturday on Highway 101 near the Sargent overcrossing. A Honda motorcycle was involved, leaving the rider with serious injuries; the rider later died at the scene. The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office identified her as Tiffany Ventura, 45, of Watsonville.
The second incident took place at approximately 2:40 p.m. Sunday on Highway 152 at Ferguson Road, involving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer. The motorcyclist, a 34-year-old man from San Jose, succumbed to his injuries, according to the CHP.
A third crash was reported around 4:45 p.m. Sunday on Bolsa Road, north of Bloomfield Road. A Ford F-150 collided head-on with a Toyota pickup, resulting in the death of the Toyota driver, identified as a 56-year-old man from Aptos. The other driver attempted to flee on foot but collapsed and was later arrested on suspicion of fleeing the scene.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the identities of the other two deceased once confirmed and next of kin are notified. The crashes remain under investigation, and no potential causes have been ruled out, authorities said.
