LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Toms River man died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on Shorrock Street Saturday morning, authorities said.
Anthony Ferrentino, 33, was pronounced dead at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. He suffered severe injuries in the collision that involved his 2021 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT motorcycle and a Dodge Hornet driven by a 56-year-old Lakewood woman.
The crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. as Ferrentino was traveling south on Shorrock Street. The Dodge Hornet was making a left turn when the two vehicles collided, according to Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith.
Witnesses reports indicated that the motorcycle failed to stop at a red light prior to the collision. The incident remains under investigation.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene, where injuries were assessed before Ferrentino was transported for medical care.
No further details about the crash or the driver of the Dodge Hornet have been released.
