Traffic Report Highlights for February 26, 2026.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Multiple vehicle accidents were reported throughout the Albuquerque metro area on October 3, 2023, resulting in injuries and significant lane closures.

At 9:52 a.m., a crash involving Albuquerque Fire Rescue’s Engine 5 occurred at Wyoming Blvd & Copper Ave NE. The suspected hit-and-run vehicle fled the scene, and no injuries have been confirmed.

Another accident was reported at I-25 northbound at Montaño/Montgomery, where the two right lanes were closed. According to the authorities, cleanup and investigation efforts are ongoing.

At 12:03 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a collision between a work van and a motorcycle at Carlisle Blvd NE and Montgomery Blvd NE. Additional resources from Engine 19 and Rescue 19 were sent to aid in the situation.

By 4:20 p.m., additional accidents with injuries were reported at Lomas and San Mateo and I-40 westbound at University. A medical emergency was cited as the cause of a crash at San Mateo and Lomas around 4:29 p.m.

The most severe incident occurred at 10:35 p.m. on I-40 eastbound at 98th, with three injuries and one fatality. The New Mexico State Police is conducting an investigation.

Authorities continue to advise motorists to remain vigilant and drive safely as cleanup efforts persist in various locations.
