Ryan Koss Pleads Not Guilty in Treat Williams Motorcycle Crash

BENNINGTON, VT — Ryan Koss, 35, pleaded not guilty Monday to charges related to a collision that resulted in the death of actor Treat Williams, 71, on June 12, according to authorities.

Koss was operating a Honda SUV when he turned left into a parking lot and struck Williams on his motorcycle. Williams was pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center.

Koss faces charges of grossly negligent operation with death and could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison if convicted. He was processed and released after voluntarily meeting with law enforcement and is scheduled for arraignment on September 25.

Following the crash, the Vermont State Police confirmed that Williams suffered critical injuries from the collision, with the cause of death attributed to severe trauma and blood loss.

Koss is the managing creative director of the Dorset Theatre Festival and reportedly had known Williams for years, expressing devastation over the incident and offering condolences to Williams’ family.

Williams’ family described him as a loving individual, emphasizing their grief and requesting privacy during this time.
