Motorcyclist Killed in Turnpike Crash Near Rock Road
A 47-year-old motorcyclist died Wednesday afternoon following a crash on the Kansas Turnpike near Rock Road in Wichita.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), Shaun Keller of Augusta was riding a 2003 Honda motorcycle northbound in the right lane at approximately 1:38 p.m. when he veered off the left side of the roadway and struck a barrier wall. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. No other vehicles were involved, and there were no reported injuries to others on the road. There were lane closures during the investigation and the recovery of the motorcycle.
