Two construction workers killed in tractor-trailer crash on Route 30 in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Two construction workers were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the Route 30 Bypass in Chester County, Pennsylvania, Monday night, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. in Valley Township, near Coatesville. Authorities reported that a tractor-trailer driving in the work zone struck the workers, who were setting up a traffic pattern.

A total of four vehicles were involved in the crash. In addition to the fatalities, two individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Emergency responders, including local fire and medical units, were on the scene. Witnesses reported at least one person was trapped due to the collision.

Images from Chopper 3 showed the tractor-trailer having crossed over the guardrail into a wooded area. The vehicle has since been removed.

The Route 30 Bypass was fully reopened before noon on Tuesday. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to authorities.
