Two dead and one injured in New Hampshire motorcycle crashes.

LACONIA, N.H. — Two people were killed and another hospitalized in three separate motorcycle crashes during Laconia Motorcycle Week, prompting police to issue safety warnings.

The first incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. at Savoie’s Campground, where a 39-year-old man was thrown off his motorcycle. Authorities arrested the driver on a DWI charge; the victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

In Laconia, a 27-year-old motorcyclist died after locking his brakes and hitting a curb. Authorities are investigating if he was under the influence at the time of the crash.

These fatalities followed another tragic accident in Barnstead on Thursday night, where a motorcyclist collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle and died.

Laconia Police Chief Matt Canfield emphasized the importance of responsible riding as the long weekend attracts many motorcyclists. “Going into the long weekend with predicted warm weather, we certainly encourage people to celebrate and have fun, but to do so responsibly,” he said.

Law enforcement agencies, including State Police and the County Sheriff, will increase their presence to promote safety during the ongoing events.

Authorities urge riders to prioritize safety, reminding them that alcohol and biking do not mix.
