Two Dead in Nebraska Plane Crash.

Two individuals were found deceased at the crash site of an overdue aircraft northeast of Kearney on the morning of October 7.

At approximately 10:07 a.m., first responders located the wreckage with assistance from drones operated by the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office and Kearney Police Department, according to authorities.

The victims, identified as 77-year-old Dr. Mark Meyer and 72-year-old Kent Magnuson, were confirmed dead at the scene, the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The FAA indicated that the aircraft, which was scheduled to arrive at Kearney Regional Airport, lost contact at around 9:30 p.m. on October 4.

Investigators revealed that the last known location of the aircraft was several miles north of Kearney Regional Airport.

Emergency services involved in the joint search effort included the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, Kearney Police Department, Kearney Volunteer Fire Department, Nebraska State Patrol, Good Samaritan Hospital, and various surrounding law enforcement agencies.

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Buffalo County Attorney’s Office, the FAA, and the National Transportation Safety Board.
