DELMAR, Del. — A woman and an 11-year-old girl died in a motorcycle crash on Whitesville Road Saturday morning, according to Delaware State Police.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., a motorcycle operated by a 36-year-old woman, later identified as Hilary Brooks, was traveling west on Whitesville Road when it collided with a rollback truck, which was making a left turn into a private driveway. The motorcycle passed a Dodge truck in a no-passing zone before the collision.
Both Brooks and her passenger, 11-year-old Mia Brooks, were ejected from the motorcycle. Hilary Brooks was transported to a local hospital, where she later died; Mia Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the rollback truck, a 19-year-old man, was unharmed.
Emergency crews closed Whitesville Road for about four hours to investigate and clear the scene. Delaware State Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
