AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A fatal crash involving a motorcycle and car occurred Sunday morning on Jefferson Davis Highway.
At approximately 10:51 a.m. in the 2000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, a 2026 Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a 2020 Subaru, according to authorities.
Both the motorcycle operator and a passenger were pronounced dead at 11 a.m. on the scene. The Subaru driver was transported to a hospital with injuries.
The Aiken County Coroner’s Office confirmed that autopsies are scheduled for next week in Newberry. Identification of the victims is ongoing, and notification of next of kin is pending.
Authorities stated that the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
