Two fatalities reported in motorcycle crash near Saint Joseph.

Two fatalities were reported following a motorcycle crash early Sunday, June 28, on Highway 6 in Buchanan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol stated the incident occurred at approximately 3:55 a.m., near 68th Road, roughly one mile east of Saint Joseph.

Authorities said a 2025 Kawasaki ZX6R Ninja motorcycle was traveling west when the driver lost control while navigating a curve. The motorcycle veered off the north side of the roadway, striking the ground and then hitting a steep embankment, which ejected both the driver and passenger.

The 53-year-old male driver and a 47-year-old female passenger, both from Saint Joseph, were found wearing helmets and pronounced dead at the scene at 4:19 a.m.

The motorcycle was destroyed and subsequently towed from the scene by Blue Knight.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed next of kin had been notified. The patrol received assistance from the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office during their response.
