HANCOCK COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) — Two people were injured in a motorcycle crash on U.S. 68 near State Route 15 on Friday night.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just after 8 p.m. Samuel Saum, 48, sustained life-threatening injuries, while his passenger, Christine Lomeli, 53, suffered minor injuries. Saum was reportedly traveling north when he lost control of the motorcycle, leading to both riders being thrown from the vehicle.
Authorities noted that neither rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Saum was transported by air to a Toledo hospital, while Lomeli was treated at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
