Two Killed in Aiken County Motorcycle-Car Collision That Ignited Fire.

Two individuals died in a two-vehicle collision on Jefferson Davis Highway in Warrenville, Aiken County, on April 9, 2023, around 10:51 a.m.

According to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables, a 2026 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling westbound collided with a 2020 Subaru. Both occupants of the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the crash.

The driver of the Subaru was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Due to thermal injuries, the identities of the victims have not yet been confirmed, and notifications to next of kin are pending. Autopsies are scheduled for the following week in Newberry.

Witnesses reported that the motorcycle struck the Subaru, with both motorcycle riders crashing through the vehicle’s window. The Subaru driver managed to escape before it became engulfed in flames, suffering serious injuries in the process.
