Malvern Man Dies in High-Speed Chase Collision
A Malvern man, Dakota Shawn Dillon, 19, died Friday morning in a crash in Hot Springs while fleeing from police.
According to a preliminary crash summary, Dillon was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 270 at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at a traffic signal. He struck a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer on the driver’s side as it exited U.S. Highway 70 onto 270.
The incident occurred at 10:04 a.m. on December 15, 2023, under cloudy skies with dry road conditions. Officer John Albright of the Hot Springs Police Department is investigating the incident.
Hope Motorcyclist Killed in Intersection Crash
A motorcyclist from Hope, Trenton M. Gress, 52, died late Sunday evening in Hempstead County.
Gress was traveling north on a 2006 Honda motorcycle when he failed to stop at the intersection of Hempstead County Road 21 and U.S. Highway 278. He collided with an eastbound 2007 Ford traveling on U.S. 278, according to a preliminary crash report.
The accident took place at 10 p.m. on December 17, 2023, under clear skies and on clear roads. Investigating Trooper Antonio May confirmed that Gress’ body was transported to the Hempstead County Morgue.
