Two Washington state residents were killed Monday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on westbound Interstate 70 in Montgomery County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred at 1:40 p.m. on August 3, near the 182.2-mile marker. A 2020 Freightliner truck was stopped due to an earlier crash when it was rear-ended by a 2010 Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle.
The 36-year-old male operator and his 36-year-old female passenger, both from Kennewick, Washington, were pronounced dead at the scene by a Warren County paramedic at 2 p.m. Both were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The motorcycle sustained total damage and was towed by Skyline Towing, while the Freightliner truck suffered moderate damage and was also towed. Authorities reported that an additional Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper assisted at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
