Two killed in motorcycle crash on Queens highway, triggering multiple-vehicle collision.

A motorcycle accident on Grand Central Parkway in Queens Thursday evening left two people dead and three hospitalized, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m., when a 2022 CFMoto 650 motorcycle heading east lost control and collided with a BMW X1 SUV near the Jackie Robinson Parkway, according to police. The impact sent both riders from the motorcycle and it continued into three additional vehicles, including a Chevrolet Express van and a Lincoln Town and Country.

The motorcycle operator was pronounced dead at the scene from a severe head injury. The woman, also a rider, was transported to NY-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Police are working to identify the deceased individuals. Initial reports indicate both the motorcycle and SUV were traveling in the same direction at the time of the collision.

Emergency Medical Services evaluated five individuals from the other vehicles; three were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries.

The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident. There were no indications of lane closures at the scene following the accident.
