HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A multi-vehicle crash at US Highway 41 and 24th Avenue South late Friday night resulted in two fatalities and four injuries.
The incident occurred on August 28, 2026, around 9:10 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A Chevrolet Colorado SUV, driven by a 44-year-old Ruskin man, was making a left turn from 24th Avenue South when it collided with a northbound Kawasaki motorcycle operated by a 31-year-old Tampa man.
The motorcycle’s passenger, an 18-year-old Clearwater woman, and the operator suffered critical injuries and were transported to local hospitals, where both later succumbed to their injuries.
A second Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by a 20-year-old Tampa man, attempted to evade the collision but overturned, sustaining injuries.
Emergency medical services transported all three motorcyclists and the SUV driver to nearby hospitals. Injuries among the SUV driver and second motorcyclist varied in severity.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident. No additional details regarding the identities of those involved have been released.
