Two motorcyclists die in Colorado Springs intersection within four days.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Two motorcyclists were killed in separate crashes at the same intersection in northeast Colorado Springs between Aug. 9 and Aug. 12.

On Aug. 9, a motorcycle collided with an SUV at Garmish Road and Union Boulevard around 8:00 p.m. Authorities said the rider, identified as 20-year-old Spencer Lehmkuhl, died at the scene despite bystander CPR attempts.

Just three days later, on Aug. 12 at approximately 3:30 p.m., another fatal crash occurred at the same intersection. A motorcycle and another vehicle were involved, and the rider was pronounced dead before emergency responders arrived. He was identified as 41-year-old Randy Dibuono.

Authorities indicated that speeding was a factor in both incidents. It remains unclear whether either rider was wearing a helmet.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, there have been 48 deadly crashes in the city over the past year.
