Two Motorcyclists Killed in Easter Morning Crash in Aiken County.

Two motorcyclists died in a crash on Easter morning in Aiken County, SC, according to authorities.

The incident occurred just before 10:30 a.m. on Jefferson Davis Highway near Ackerman Drive. Master Trooper William Bennet with the South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that a 2020 Subaru Outback, traveling north, attempted to turn left into a driveway when it was struck by a southbound 2026 Kawasaki motorcycle. Both motorcycle riders were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables stated that autopsies are scheduled for the upcoming week in Newberry, but identities of the deceased have not yet been released due to “thermal injuries” and the family notification process.

The crash is still under investigation by both the coroner’s office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
