WATERLOO TOWNSHIP, Wis. (WMTV) – Two Iowa motorcycle riders sustained serious injuries after colliding with a deer on Highway 133 on Friday.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the 2023 Harley Davidson was traveling southbound near Carter Lane when it struck the deer.
The impact caused the motorcycle to tip over, sliding approximately 75 yards and ejecting both riders, who were not wearing helmets.
Emergency medical personnel from Cassville EMS treated the riders on-site before transporting them by helicopter to UW-Madison Hospital.
Authorities confirmed that the Cassville Fire Department and University of Wisconsin MedFlight assisted at the scene, along with University of Iowa AirCare and Arrow Towing of Lancaster.
The crash is currently under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
