Two Piqua Motorcyclists Hospitalized Following Johnson Township Collision.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WKEF) — Two motorcyclists were injured Tuesday evening in a crash on US-36 at State Route 235 in Johnson Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 7 p.m. on July 28. A Kawasaki Ninja, operated by 21-year-old Kadyn Edwards of Piqua, and a Yamaha YZF, operated by 24-year-old Romello Benson, also of Piqua, were traveling east on US-36 when they crashed.

Both riders were wearing helmets, and no passengers were on either motorcycle. Edwards was transported via medical helicopter to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, while Benson was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has not released updates on their current conditions. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Authorities reported lane closures during the emergency response.
