Two separate crashes over the weekend claim the lives of motorcyclists.

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) – Two motorcycle crashes over the weekend in Western New York resulted in the deaths of both operators.

The first incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Town of Burns, Allegany County, where a rider was found deceased near State Route 70. New York State Police reported that a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling westbound exited the roadway, struck a signpost, and ejected the operator.

The operator was identified as 50-year-old Jayson Mess from Canaseraga, who was found in a ditch at the scene, authorities said.

The second crash took place on Sunday at about 12:42 p.m. in the Town of Aurora, where East Aurora Police responded to a call regarding a motorcycle accident on Mill Road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the rider, 38-year-old Bryan Bratos, suffering from serious, life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders provided immediate assistance, but Bratos was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Both incidents remain under investigation by local law enforcement agencies. No additional details regarding lane closures or traffic disruptions were reported.
