Two Southeast Alaska teenagers killed in dirt bike collision, according to troopers.

Two teenagers died in a dirt bike collision on Hollis Highway on Prince of Wales Island at approximately 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Alaska State Troopers reported.

The victims were identified as 18-year-old Greyer Schwegel and 17-year-old Paul Lingley IV, according to a statement from the Troopers.

The incident occurred near Mile 24 of Hollis Highway, which spans roughly 30 miles between Klawock and Hollis. Authorities confirmed that no other individuals were present at the time of the collision.

Witness reports indicate that the victims were friends. Two helmets were recovered at the scene, according to Troopers spokesperson Nastazia Nogacki.

Medics attempted lifesaving efforts but pronounced both riders dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
