A 55-year-old man from Cadillac, Michigan, died in a motorcycle crash in north Ormond Beach on Sept. 2.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 9:33 p.m. when the man, riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, entered U.S. 1 traveling southbound in the northbound lane.
His motorcycle collided head-on with a 2014 Acura, driven by a Palm Coast resident, who was unharmed. The motorcyclist, not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash took place just south of Pine Tree Boulevard. No road closures were reported, and no other injuries were confirmed in this incident.
This marks the second fatal motorcycle crash in the area within three days; on Aug. 31, a 32-year-old Daytona Beach man died after his motorcycle crashed into the back of a boat trailer on International Speedway Boulevard, according to FHP.
