Two Dead in Glenn Highway Crash; One Child Hospitalized
ANKORAGE, AK — Two people died in a multi-vehicle crash on the Glenn Highway near the S Curves Thursday morning. The collision occurred shortly after 8 a.m.
According to Anchorage Police, 73-year-old Robert Twito, driving a Ford F-150, and 37-year-old Donna Reisinger, operating a Kia Soul, were pronounced dead at the scene. A juvenile passenger in the Kia was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the drivers of a GMC Acadia and a Ford Explorer involved in the incident were uninjured.
Officials report that the F-150 crossed the median from the northbound lanes into oncoming traffic, colliding with the three other vehicles. The crash prompted a temporary closure of the southbound Glenn Highway, resulting in significant delays between the Hiland exit and Muldoon.
The Anchorage Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit is currently examining the scene. Authorities have described the wreck as horrific and are urging anyone affected by the incident to reach out to the Anchorage Fire Department’s Mobile Crisis Team for support.
