Two Injured in Motorcycle Crash Near Oregon Border
PARMA, ID — A motorcycle accident injured two riders on Monday, August 31, at 12:46 p.m. on US 20/26 near mile marker 1.
According to the Idaho State Police, a 57-year-old man and a 55-year-old female passenger, both from Woodinville, WA, were traveling eastbound when their 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle struck an oil slick while passing a semi-truck. The motorcycle then crashed and came to rest on the shoulder of the roadway.
Both riders were wearing helmets. The male rider was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance, while the female passenger was airlifted for further medical treatment.
Authorities noted that the semi-truck was not directly involved in the crash. This incident marks the third serious motorcycle accident reported in Idaho this week, with previous incidents resulting in fatalities.
In addition, the Idaho State Police released information about another semi-truck rollover that occurred the same day on Interstate 84, near the Jerome and Minidoka County border. The driver of that truck, also from Washington, was unharmed.
Idaho 511 reported ongoing construction in the area, leading to lane closures. Emergency response agencies are investigating both incidents.
