A 17-year-old motorcyclist, Austin Leigh Lippincott, died Tuesday night following a crash in Griswold, Connecticut.
According to Connecticut State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Route 207 and Pautipaug Hill Road. Lippincott was traveling west on Route 207 and was attempting a left turn when a Chevrolet work van turning right from the east crossed into his lane, colliding with the motorcycle.
Emergency Medical Services transported Lippincott to Backus Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
Authorities reported that Lippincott was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, and no other details regarding injuries or lane closures have been released at this time.
