Versailles Man Dies in Morgan County Crash.

A single-vehicle crash in Morgan County on Friday afternoon resulted in the death of a Versailles man, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. on Highway W, about 0.1 mile north of Old Marvin Cutoff Road. Authorities reported that a southbound 2023 Chevrolet Silverado failed to navigate a curve, veering off the left side of the roadway, striking two highway signs, and impacting a creek bed, which caused the vehicle to overturn.

The 66-year-old man from Versailles was not wearing a seat belt and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at 3:10 p.m. by staff at University Hospital. The Chevrolet Silverado was deemed totaled and subsequently towed by Garber Towing of Versailles.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, this incident marks Troop F’s first traffic fatality for June and the 26th traffic fatality of the year. The investigation is ongoing, with Trooper M.W. Guinnip and Trooper C.D. Jones assisting onsite.
