Victim Identified in Deadly Dirt Bike Crash in Rio Rancho.

RIO RANCHO, NM – A fatal dirt bike collision on New Mexico 528 near Hilltop Plaza on February 2 has claimed the life of 19- or 20-year-old Patrick Barlow, authorities said.

The incident occurred when a southbound driver in the left turn bay stopped before proceeding across northbound lanes with a green light, according to police reports. The driver did not see Barlow’s motorcycle until crossing into the third lane, resulting in the collision.

Barlow was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver was transported to a local hospital. Reports confirmed that Barlow was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.


TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, NM – An accident closed the passing left lane of Interstate 25 south of Truth or Consequences on Wednesday afternoon, according to an advisory from NMRoads issued at 2:42 p.m. The lane closure extended from mile marker 72 to mile marker 70 while emergency crews responded to the scene.


MCKINLEY COUNTY, NM – A rollover crash on eastbound Interstate 40 near mile marker 28 occurred early Monday morning, prompting a response from the McKinley County Sheriff’s Office and New Mexico State Police. One lane remained open while traffic was slowed through the area. By 5:30 a.m., both lanes had reopened. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
