ARNOLDS PARK, Iowa — A boat collision on West Lake Okoboji on August 2 resulted in one fatality and injuries to five minors.
The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. near Pillsbury Point, involving two vessels. The deceased has been identified as 64-year-old Zhong Jie Teng of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Teng was transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, where he was pronounced dead. The condition of the five injured minors remains unavailable, according to authorities.
An investigation is ongoing. Officials have ruled out alcohol as a factor in the incident.
