Issaquah Man Charged with Murder After Fatal Motorcycle Collision
Issaquah, WA – A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder following a fatal collision involving a motorcycle on August 4, 2026, at approximately 2:41 p.m.
Authorities said Tyler Sorensen allegedly followed his coworker, 20-year-old Jonathon Langdon, out of a Costco parking lot after Langdon hugged a female coworker, igniting Sorensen’s jealousy. Sorensen was driving a gray sedan, while Langdon was on a motorcycle.
Witnesses reported seeing Sorensen ram Langdon’s motorcycle, propelling him into a street sign. Langdon sustained fatal injuries, including a direct impact that resulted in his helmet visor detaching. Despite wearing a helmet, he was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Initial reports indicate that Sorensen fled the scene without calling for help. He was later stopped by a Washington State Patrol trooper for speeding and allegedly expressed remorse for his actions during his arrest.
According to court documents, Sorensen texted friends expressing anger about the incident prior to the collision. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include second-degree murder.
Sorensen was booked into custody with bail set at $2 million. He is scheduled to appear in court for a pre-trial conference on August 27.
