Motorcycle Crash in Hartford Leaves Rider Critically Injured; Driver Faces Multiple Charges
A motorcycle accident occurred at the intersection of Country Club and Higby roads in Hartford on Tuesday, resulting in life-threatening injuries for the rider.
According to police, the crash involved a car driven by Marco Jefferson Chamorro Cordova, who fled the scene in another vehicle. The passenger, 21-year-old Diana Anton Peralta, initially claimed responsibility for driving but was contradicted by video evidence.
The motorcyclist was transported to Hartford Hospital and underwent surgery, with their condition not updated by Tuesday morning, authorities stated.
Chamorro Cordova faces several charges, including second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, first-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer, and DUI, among others. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Peralta has been charged with interfering with an officer and was released on a $10,000 bond, according to police.
