WYTHE CO., Va. – Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Cove Road on Monday evening.
The incident took place at 6:20 p.m. in the 2000 block of Cove Road. According to authorities, a 2015 Suzuki motorcycle operated by 54-year-old Leonard Heldreth was traveling northbound when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2000 Ford F-150 moving southbound.
Heldreth, a resident of Wythe County, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. The condition of the driver of the Ford F-150 and details about any passengers have not been disclosed by authorities.
