Motorcycle Crash Kills Waldron Man in Versailles

(Versailes, Ind.) – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred Friday, June 5, at approximately 7:40 p.m. at the intersection of S. High St. and U.S. 50, according to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities report that a blue 2019 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by 24-year-old Hailley Eden of Versailles, was stopped at a stop sign on S. High St. Eden was attempting to turn eastbound onto U.S. 50 when a red 2001 Honda motorcycle, operated by 41-year-old Jacob Rader of Waldron, struck her vehicle while traveling westbound.

Rader sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Ripley County EMS. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. According to officials, drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors, and toxicology results are pending.

No further details have been released regarding road closures or vehicle towing.
