Fatal Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of Local Man in Bismarck

BISMARCK, ND — Walter Scott Jessup, 49, died on July 11, 2018, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on July 8, 2018, according to authorities.

Jessup was involved in a collision while riding in Bismarck. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries three days later. The specific details regarding the number of vehicles involved or other parties remain under investigation.

Jessup, originally from Omaha, Nebraska, was a long-time railroad worker and entrepreneur who founded Jessup Diesel Incorporated. He had faced significant health challenges over the last two years, battling throat cancer prior to the accident, which severely impacted his daily life.

He is survived by his children, Christina “Dolly” Jessup of Council Bluffs and Steven “Wotty” Jessup of Bismarck, along with four grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for July 15, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. Inurnment will occur at a later date in Branson Cemetery.
