Motorcycle Rider Killed in Hit-and-Run on SR 509, WSP Seeks Witnesses
A motorcycle rider died late Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, following a hit-and-run collision on southbound SR 509 near Meyers Way, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
The incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. and involved two vehicles and a motorcycle. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
WSP reported that a white passenger car was driving erratically before it struck the motorcycle, dislodging the rider. A gray vehicle then hit the motorcycle and fled the scene, exiting onto Meyers Way.
Parts from the suspect vehicles were left at the crash site. Authorities noted that the bumper of the fleeing vehicle appeared to be metallic blue painted white and sustained front and rear damage.
The road was closed for approximately four hours as investigators processed the scene.

The collision on SB SR 509 at S Cloverdale St was cleared early the following morning, with all lanes now open, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
