WASILLA, Alaska (KTUU) – A motorcycle crash involving a fleeing rider and a moose left one man dead in Wasilla early Sunday morning.
According to the Wasilla Police Department, 36-year-old David Nagl collided with a moose at approximately 3:55 a.m. on August 28, after officers attempted to pull him over for traffic violations.
Authorities reported that Nagl, who was riding at speeds over 100 mph, turned onto Seldon Road during the pursuit before the incident occurred near N Jasper Drive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police indicated that the initial traffic stop was prompted by speeding, failure to stop at a traffic light, failure to signal, and unsafe maneuvering.
