Weatherford Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on FM 920 Near Boonsville
A motorcycle crash on Farm Road 920 near Private Road 3738, north of Boonsville, resulted in the death of a Weatherford man Monday morning.
Emergency responders were called to the scene at approximately 6:30 a.m. after a passerby reported a motorcycle off the roadway. Shaun Allan Waits, 56, was pronounced dead by Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers who arrived at the scene.
According to DPS Sgt. Juan Gutierrez, a preliminary investigation revealed that Waits was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on FM 920 at an unsafe speed. He reportedly failed to negotiate a curve, causing the motorcycle to go off the road, where it landed on its side. Waits was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Authorities have not released an official time of the crash. Wise County EMS and Wise County Emergency Services District No. 2 responded to assist at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and no further information has been made available from DPS.
