MINDEN, La. (KSLA) – A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 near U.S. Highway 371 resulted in a fatality on June 15.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to the incident involving a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 58-year-old Christopher Hatfield of Sarepta.
According to authorities, Hatfield was traveling eastbound when his motorcycle exited the roadway and struck a median guardrail. He was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time.
Hatfield sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities do not suspect impairment, although toxicology samples have been collected for analysis. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Louisiana State Police reminded all motorists to make responsible decisions and encouraged motorcycle riders to take approved safety courses to enhance their skills and road awareness.
