WEIR, KS — A 73-year-old man from Weir was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on U.S. Highway 54 on Friday afternoon.
Authorities said the man lost control of his Honda motorcycle around 2:41 p.m., resulting in an overturn. Emergency services transported him to Freeman Hospital in Joplin for treatment of his injuries.
The incident involved only the motorcycle and no other vehicles, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Witnesses reported that the crash temporarily closed one lane of U.S. 54 while first responders conducted their work and cleared the scene.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no additional details have been released at this time.
