Fatal Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of 21-Year-Old in West Plains
A 21-year-old West Plains man, Logan Day-Tarlton, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred at 6:15 p.m. on County Road 8240, approximately 2 miles east of West Plains, when Day-Tarlton’s eastbound 2026 CF Moto motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve, veering off the road and striking a stump, according to Authorities. He was pronounced dead shortly after the crash by Howell County Coroner Tim Cherry.
Day-Tarlton’s death is the 13th traffic fatality in 2026 for the nine-county Troop G area, noted Msgt. S.L. Nelson with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. For comparison, there were 16 fatalities during the same period last year. Nelson was assisted by Tpr. J.D. Healy and personnel from the Howell County Rural Fire Department at the scene.
Funeral arrangements are being coordinated through Yarber Mortuary in Mtn. View. Visitation will take place Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Yarber Chapel, followed by a funeral service. Interment is set for Oak Grove Cemetery in Birch Tree. Donations to assist with funeral expenses can be made through a GoFundMe page established for Day-Tarlton’s family.
