WORTH COUNTY, Missouri — A four-vehicle motorcycle accident on Highway 46 left one man dead and another injured Saturday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m. near Route F. A 65-year-old Bedford man, operating a 2017 Harley Davidson, was eastbound and slowing to turn left when the crash began.
A 44-year-old Winterset man riding a 2025 Harley Davidson, unable to see the slowing motorcycle, attempted to swerve left to avoid a collision but struck the back of the first motorcycle. This impact overturned the Winterset motorcycle, ejecting its rider.
Following, a 47-year-old Bedford man on a 2021 Harley Davidson, also eastbound, collided with the overturned 2025 HD, resulting in his ejection. A fourth motorcycle, a 2025 Harley Davidson driven by a 44-year-old Patterson man, attempted to avoid the wreckage but ran over the ejected Winterset rider.
The Winterset rider was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:59 p.m., while the Bedford man sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Mosaic Medical Center in Maryville, Missouri.
Emergency response included the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Worth County Sheriff’s Office, Worth County EMS, and local fire departments. The accident closed lanes on Highway 46 for several hours. The names of those involved have not been released, but authorities confirmed that next of kin for the deceased have been notified.
