Woman changes plea in Nebraska crash that killed motorcyclist.

MEAD, Neb. (WOWT) – Tami Bowen, 57, pleaded no contest to motor vehicle homicide in a case involving a fatal motorcycle crash on April 14, 2024.

The crash occurred at the intersection of State Highways 77 and 92 when Bowen failed to yield to 50-year-old Ben Roberts of Omaha, who died from his injuries.

Authorities reported that charges of careless driving and failure to yield were dropped as part of the plea agreement. Bowen’s initial citation was issued in November 2024.

Roberts’ family expressed frustration over the lengthy wait for charges; they felt seven months without updates was challenging. Bowen is scheduled for sentencing on March 27, 2025.
