Motorcyclist dies following collision at New Leicester Highway and Eliada Home Road in Asheville.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a car occurred at approximately 4:23 p.m. on February 13, according to Asheville Police Department.
Authorities reported that Tylor Russell Holzhauser, 27, was riding a 2024 Kawasaki ER650 motorcycle southbound on New Leicester Highway when he collided with a northbound 2013 Toyota Prius, driven by Jennifer Louise Saylor, 56. The Prius was turning left onto Eliada Home Road.
Holzhauser was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. New Leicester Highway was closed for over an hour during the investigation.
Following the investigation, Saylor was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and unsafe movement. She has been booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $5,000 unsecured bond.
